Has anyone hear got a gerbil that enjoys eating everything it comes to.Does anyone know what kind of tree branches i can give them because ive heard they can chew it.And does anyone know anything i can give him to play with but not eat. -_-

i'm not quite sure if this would work for gerbils, but i used to own rabbits and i used to give them chunks of apple tree wood. they gnawed on it but didn't really eat it. it needs to be a pretty good size, 3-4 inches long and a couple inches in diameter, depending on how destructive your gerbil is ;)

i hoped this helped a little bit, if not, sorry, at least it gave you a hit and maybe someone else will contribute :)

thanx.im just goin to keep buyin proper wood gnaws for him.Hes now in a glass tank full of sawdut because hes eaten a hole in his cage.Very destructive.lol :D

He eats everything, huh? Well, my brother brought gerbils home for a week from school and they enjoyed chewing up cardboard. But that won't work for you.:lol:

Good luck finding a solution.

Gerbils do better in a glass tank - when in wire cages they sometimes gnaw on the bars and get sores on their noses. they good on the apple wood but as for the toys, just about anything you put in there will get chewed!

I aggree that glass tanks are much better.

When I had my gerbils they were so messy.Always flicking stuff out of the cage.

My gerbil chewed through his wire cage! That was the last of him . . . I gave him wood from our tree outside before his escape. He was a mean little critter!
