I'll be using Co2 soon wanted a heads up with PH profiling and how many PSI or bar to start and what to expect with the bubble counter on the 300L tank.
Ph tested once 7.8PH-7.9PH
KH 7
GH11

You will need a regulator, dual gauge preferably, this is what you use to adjust flow from the cannister to the tank via  needle valve.

And for bubble counter, that depends on your tank set up and if heavily planted etc. Usually 1 bubble per 2 or 3 seconds should be a good to start with then adjust accordingly for your tank.

Also a drop checker to check how much co2 is being diffused in the tank, you want this at green colour.

This may help give you ideas where to start and what to look out for -

Oh, if you are doing co2, you will need to dose EI ferts regularly.

Hey Charlie
I'm at the point of ordering the whole kit.
EI is what I'm going for as I have these to use!
Do you make the solution on the co2 checker?
Is it just Lower API PH solution? Or have I got it completely wrong?

This is what I worked out for macro.

My tank as it stands at the moment swords crypts anubais floaters some I dont even know the names off LOL

That EI dry mix is perfectly fine, and that guide will let you know how much of each you need.

You can add the EI as a dry power straight to tank if you make sure you calculate dosages correctly, or mix as a solution with water and add as required to tank regularly.

For the drop checker, i have never made a solution for this, i usually buy a bottle of drop checker solution online

Something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/281320036265?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0

API Lower Ph is not for co2 at all. Thats for lowering the ph level in your tank, not stuff I would recommend regardless anyway.

Thanks Charlie for the links will pick one!
Yeah the Bromoblue is in the Api lower PH master kit and can be used as a reagent. But like you said not sure if I can be bothered as the house looks like a chem lab already!

You can make drop checker solution, it's basically a 4kdH solution with bromoblue in it. Best way is to make a large quantity up using Bicarb of soda and a bit of demineralised water (or RO if you've got it), you'll then never want for drop checker solution ever again, as you'll have made enough to last you until the tank falls apart.

I'll give it shot Rob have a rough idea bi carb 5.99grams to 1litre of Ro then 490ml of Ro to 10ml of the bi carb solution to make 500ml of 4kdh.
Sound about right if my cooking scales is calbrated right.
