Hi,

Apologies if this is not the correct place to post this thread.

I need some advice on starting a Garra Rufa Spa. The issues which I need help with are as follows:
I am consious this is not a business support forum, but this is not just a trading business buying and selling stock, this involves the health and well being of the customer and the fish, and I hope the people on this forum will be very well placed to offer good advice on the banana skins to watch out for when keeping (and working with) Garra Rufa fish.

1. Can you recommend a good supplier of fish. Quality and price are important.
2. Can you recommend a good supplier of tank, filters, UV clarifiers/ sterilizaers etc
3. In this business I have 3 primary concerns all of which are important to me (i) health of customers (ii) health of fish and (iii) ability to make money.
4. Can you provide some details of the fish, around life expectancy, are these very difficult fish to keep? Do they need a very fine balance of conditions? Water temperature? density of fish to water? Can the fish carry and transmit fish TB to humans? What if the human has a cut on the feet, is this dangerous for the person or the fish?
5. I would like to wash/ clean the customers feet before they are submersed in the tank. What should I use to clean the feet that is effective but also safe for the fish?
6. How will I know if my fish are well (i don't want to wait for them to be floating in the tank)
7. Are there any health and safety certificates I need to apply for?
8. How often should I change the water? Do UV clarifiers really work?
9. How big will the fish grow? Is it better to buy small fish and try to grow them or buy bigger fish to start (are bigger fish more resiliant)?
10. Do the fish reproduce in the tank, if so could I expect a tank of 200 fist to become say 220 in one year (30 deaths and 50 births)?
11. Are there any adverse reports of humans getting fish TB or any other illness from these fish?
12. Are there any other issues which I should be mindful of in running a set up of say 6 fish tank units with c150 fish per tank? eg practicalities of changing the water, extra feed for the fish? vet fees? Is there anything I've missed?

Thank you in adavance for your helpful comments.

here is a video. when we hired the setup for one of our party...

2x 25 fish = £150
2x filter = 2x £279
2x heaters = 2x £20 (24°C and 28°C range is good. perfect for bacteria to thrive.. )
2x uv = 2x £49
twin air pump = £29
twin tank setup cost = £370

fish need to be feed twise a day by UK low.. so they dont eat dead skin.. whole thing is just for fun.

25 fish in 1.5' x 1.5' tank is cruelty to fish. ( but in the bigger tank, customers dont see any action )

currently there is a case to setup a legal setup for how many fish you can put in the certain seized tank....
