I've had 2 of these beautiful little fish for about 6 months now, and they seem to really like it in their tank.

I seem to really struggle to find any information on them anywhere at all, does anyone else keep them?

I was horrified to see a really nasty injury on ones flank, I can only presume its a bite from something else in there but I can't figure out what ...

In his tank: 6 juvenile (6 month old) angel fish, 1 geophagus red hump eartheater (fully grown), a few corydoras and 1 dwarf gourami

He is a good 3 inches long, the same size as his brother - They have always chased each other about but it seemed harmless enough - Are they tolerant of their own species? Could my other Garra have attacked him?

I'm really upset about this, and he is now completely subdued and hiding under a log and won't eat. How can I aid his recovery, or am I going to have to watch him slowly die? :(

I'm still trying to master the art of photographing my fish, so I doubt that would help - but he has a 5mm roughly circular would which is red underneath so I presume has penetrated all of his 'skin' layers or the fishy equivalent

please help!

Never mind, my wife's just called and he's died

I'm still intrigued as to who inflicted the fatal blow, as its a very peaceful tank.

The wife is convinced it was the other Garra - Does anyone know about these guys ?

I have no experience with this particular species, but many Garra species become increasingly intolerant of their own kind as they mature. Of the fish in your tank, the other Garra would be my first choice.
