See it? I don't have the best eye sight, but it looks like a single transparent scale.. Is it ich or some other disease?

Also my other question is my female has what looks to be a tiny little worm at the base of her pectoral fin. It kind of looks like part of the fin was torn or something, it doesn't move, only when she moves her fins so I don't think it's an actual worm or anything.. I tried to get a picture but she wouldn't stay still. I drew a picture in paint on where it is located :p

the picture is of a pectoral fin and where the thing is. This is going to sound gross but if you've ever popped a zit on yourself, the thing looks like what usually comes out of a zit, that cream-ish colored stuff. Anyone know what it could be? or if it's just a tear in her fin?

Can't really help as far as the girl goes, but to me the boy looks to have been damaged by a net or scraped on something? What kind of plants does he have? I had a boy a few months ago that looked very similiar and everyone told me they thought it looked like a netting injury. About a month later it still hadn't gotten better, and then one day it got all cottony and ate away at his neck, and he passed away within 6 hours or so..... Keep a good eye on it, add a little salt to the water, and keep his water very clean, and watch for it to get better/worse. Mine never got better or worse until that one day it just hit, and it was too late!

Hm. I have not used a net on him so it couldn't be the net.. the only real plant in his tank right now is java moss and that's not sharp, the only thing it might have been is the one fake plant in there.. and I don't think that's sharp enough to remove a scale. :/

That's his tank set up. (I'm planning to get some Java Fern's and a couple other things payday.) It might have been the gravel but I have my doubts, the stuff is very light weight and I havn't seen any sharp peices.

As for salt, I usually put a tiny tiny pinch in the water with every tank change.

I don't think it's ich, it just looks like a dead loose scale to me. Probably bumped it on something and scraped it half way off... it'll fall out and a new one will replace it :)
