Gabriel has turquoise showing up on his fins

My fishes have all sorts of fun stuff going on right now. uugh

Since I got Gabriel, he has always had a touch of finrot. He had it when I got him, and the change to clean healthy water started the healthy growth back and his fins were looking really great - now he's got some clear stuff at the end of his tail, like what a veil's tail looks like when it's on it's way to thinning, thinning, and then it rips. Along the edges of the clear stuff, there's a 1/4" patch along the whole thing where there is turquoise blue coloration. it's on his ventrals and caudal fin, too - but kind of randomly on those fins.

Sorry I don't have a picture of him - I'm going to try to get one tonight. Anybody know what this could be? I doubt it's natural coloration cuz he never had it before - and it strikes me as really odd that it would be most dominantly right above where the end of his tail is kind of deteriorating a bit.

ps - my boyfriend had a REALLY plausible theory. He thought that since he's in the tank with Petey (a blue betta) that maybe Petey was turning Gabe's fins blue. lol

I was thinking it could be just coloration.
I keep asking him what it is but he just ignores me.

I had thought it could be coloration too because it's on his ventrals and such also, but it just seemed really weird that it was mostly above his clean fin parts.

I'm just a worrywort i guess.

Is it on the new growth? from the fin rot? if it is, it could be that the new growth is just taking on a new color

it's moreso up his fins above the clear stuff.

I am beginning to think that it's a color change the more I think about it cuz it's on his ventrals and he's always had those really deep blue tinges on him at the bases of his tail and fins.

I'd guess natural colouring. When I got Hannibal he had a clear patch in his tail, the guy said he'd got that during delivery but it would go red soon. After a few weeks the clear bit got bigger, and he got some on his other fins too... Panicking, thinking it was finrot, internal bacteria... 6 months on and he's still got it, so its definately his natural colouring
