Fx6 Hosing

In my last tank I was running 2 Fluval FX6's. With my last tank I would have the filter inlet's stretched to the opposite side of the tank to where the filter was and the outlet above the filter (hope this makes sense). But with my new tank the inlet hose doesn't quite reach to the other side of the tank. Will it make a difference to the filters performance if I have both the Inlet and Outlet directly above the filter? (again I hope this makes sense)

So long as the output is pointing away from the intake, Add a extra powerhead for more water movement and you'll be fine.

the intake will be much lower down than the output. yeah I have a couple of monster powerheads so that wont be a problem
