Specifically I'm looking to buy a peaceful FW puffer for my 15 gallon tank community. Here is what Ihave:

2 x angelfish (2 Inches each)
2 x German Blue Rams (2 Inches each)
Golden Dodjo Loach (5 Inches)
Algae Eater and Blue Lobster that stay inside their beachwood cave all the time and rarely come out

Please help!

Sadly there is no fish that meets those requirements that are available in the trade. Take a look at the overview in the pinned topic.

No chance....your Angels would most certainly get nipped by any type of puffer + your lobster may grab it whilst the puffers asleep.
As you may or not may know, your angels will most certainly grow larger, therefore needing a larger tank. When this time comes, move all your inhabitants over to your new tank and setup your 15 gal for a puffer. You'd be able to add them straight away as your filter will be matured etc. YOu could go for a few dwarf puffers or a single South American Puffer, but they do better in groups in larger tanks. If you wanted to go down the brackish route theres always Figure 8's that are compatible with Bumblee Bee Gobies and stuff....its something to think about :D

aint gona happen. puffers are very, very agressive and will literatly eat a fish alive. my GSP managed to take 3 bites from my bichir, so i was like alright see ya later GSP

but really, bad idea...please dont try it

Thanks all, it seems that an amazon may be my only route. I would not get a GSP for sure, first off marine when adult and secondly the last post before mine says it all. :hyper:

Why ask the question if you were planning to ignore the answers to it anyway?

Amazon puffers -- Colomesus asellus -- are great fish. But they are fin nippers. I keep three in a community tank (of sorts) with fast moving and semi-aggressive fish. Over the years my experience is that fast moving fish like bleeding heart tetras and glassfish are fine with them -- given space to avoid them of course. And things like Synodontis and small cichlids usually punch back, so the puffers leave them alone. But anything slow (e.g., angelfish) or stupid (e.g., Corydoras) will be nipped. No question.

I'd also make the point that Colomesus asellus is (in my opinion) gregarious. It does far better in groups than singly.

Cheers, Neale

I am in no way ignoring any of you. I've actually decided to leave the puffer Idea alone for now. Your all right!
Thanks again for your time.
