well when I bought my quaker parrot around 5 years ago, the owner of the hatchlings told me that when they get older and attached to you they will sometimes try and "mate" with you. I didnt know what she meant until a few years ago Angel started doing something really weird. When I take him out of his cage for excercise, sometimes I give him "leg-ups" telling him to step up onto my fingers repeatedly and keep him walking..for some reason this excites him and he startes to make his love noises of clucks and hums..and then started to try to regurgitate on me! ack! after that i read into the book I have on quakers and found out that this is some sort of mating ritual they do with there "lover" (after being puked on a few times by him  )..Its the funniest thing when he gets in his love moods the way he looks and acts..he looks like an overfluffed stuffed bird and will try his hardest to get close to my face and rub on me

do any of you out there with feathered friends ever had this happen to you? I'm thinking that maybe this is just a certain ritual that only Quaker parrots do, but Im curious if other birds do this nasty thing to their owners as well

well i am aware that some birds get.... ummm.... dog happy and like to (sorry but i can't put this any more suttley) "hump" objects
my birds have never done this
they have however regurgitated, sang, danced, and presented themselves to me (poof up all of their feathers giving them a sort of cube shape and poofing their chest and forehead out)
it makes me feel loved

but seriously if your bird does any of this to you it means that you a very good owner and treat them very well
you have their full trust and some even fall in love with you ;)

I had a macaw that would love up to me.He'd climb down from his cage and follow me around the house like a puppy. He'd climb up my leg and into my lap. He'd hop from one knee to the other, bobbing his head and doing the "I love you" dance.I could tickle his wingpits and rub around his ears.Birds who will allow touching usually love having that area given attention just as dogs do.He'd make the most comical sounds and would roll over in my lap.I miss that silly guy.The birds I have now are great and the peach is a little sweetie that I've had from chickhood. But none are quite as enthusiastic in affection as the macaw was

In my late teens we had a white pigeon named Napolean Flown Apart that thought I was the "cat's meow" If I wore white socks anywhere near him he'd be all over me. Never did it with anyone else and never when I didn't have the socks on. He was my guy - dirty bug that he was...
