keep getting these messages, what do they mean? thought they were spyware at first, scanned and deleted everything though and they keep coming back, had to type them out as I can't get a screen print of them to post for some reason. Had a virus I couldn't shift the other week, ended up having to re-formatt my pc, not even put everything back on it yet and I'm getting this now. whats going on?!?

ye i wouldnt touch that.

thing is, you need to run several spyware scanners and even then you probably wont get rid of everything.

i use Adaware and Spybot but i have to admit ive got pretty slack with it.

i've got spybot, scanned and deleted all spyware, the messages just keep coming back however many times I scan it.

not clicked the links or looked at the sites.... too scared after getting the virus the other week!!

Could I be picking up the same spyware from certain sites? (I don't look at anything dodgy before you say it! lol) Mostly I just use this and another forum, if I'm getting it from one of them I could let the mods know to do something about it... really don't know how it works?

thanks

you need more than one because theres so much spyware that one single software house cant keep up with all of it.

thats why if you have 2 different programs, you scan for more things.

dnt kno if that was clear? :S

yeah that's clear, anyone recommend me another decent one apart from spybot then?

Hi,

One of the best Anti Spyware solutions, is Counterspy. We use it at work as well as Spybot. However Counterspy seems to find more than Spybot. If you google Counterspy you can obtain a 15 day Fully Functioning trial. It might or mght not help you out a little bit more.

Bottom line; if you reach ANY message and it gives you a link to go to, don't do it. Also, if there are any misspelled words..well that's a dead give away.
Just look at browser, it's spelled "BRFOWSER".

I think most people have common sense not to do things, but you never know!

You sure it's not a trojan? When I lived with my cousin her ex boyfriend used to eh hemm...look at porn. On day I got back from school lol, turned the monitor on and there were about 65 pop-ups..literally. Half had porn on them. Had to delete everyone -took like 10 minutes.
After that a couple scans detected stuff and deleted, but of course the trojan kept coming back and adding more spyware onto the system. It got so bad they actually got two types: the kind where it scans everything and sends it back to the computer of the virus user ( went into yahoo messenger once, in the user name and password section there was a little bar that kept going back and forth so obviously a scanner), and the other type was deleting everything on her hardware and made her virus scanners almost impossible to open up.

I'm not an "expert" on computers of course, but i'm very paranoid about spyware and all so anytime I find one i'm always looking up on it lol.

This may sound stupid, but since I got rid of my McAffe Anti-Virus Package, with the firewalls, scanners and blockers, I've been doing checks with free packages online, turns out i've had alot less viruses and stuff since I got rid of it.
