Funny Coloration

Hi. I woke up today and 2/3 of my bengal/queen loaches are really faded looking and one has a make on his head (like a scrape but not red or anything, just white). Does anyone know what's wrong? I'm worried....

My Kuhli Loaches do that. I don't know why, but I have yet to have any problems with 'em. Sometimes they're very pale, but then awhile later they're fine. I'd guess it would be the same with your loaches, provided they're acting normal, but I don't know for certain. I'd say that if they're otherwise okay, don't worry about 'em too much

Yeah, now one of them is back to regular color and the other is a darker black mottled look. All are eating and acting normal and I tested all my parameters today and everything looks great. Maybe I just turned the tank on earlier than usual today and it startled them. Who knows. Thanks for letting me know your loaches do that too.

hi,
dont have same loaches as you but we have 2 yoyos & when we first introduced the newie to mr established, they both went pure white before having what appeared to be a bit of a scrap! (theyre normally black & silver/white striped colour) apparently its a thing a lot of loaches do when they are stressed or excited, have only seen ours white out again v briefly on a couple of occasions since - when they seemed to be having a bit of a tiff.
