A Sailfin Molly has suddenly got a whiteish looking color covering it even its eyes.

Its not at all like cotton wool. More like a a translucent white skin if you know what I mean...

Well things are dire. Its on the bottom of the tank, on its side...Ive done I 25% water change and treated the tank with a anti fungal treatment....Is this the right thing to do? Can I do more?

Thanks
Chris

What parts of the body is the infection covering exactly? Do you use dechlorinator?
The condition could have been brought on by the stress of having too many male mollys to your females, there will be alot of harrassment from the males to the females and agression between the males themselves. Ideally you should have at least 3females to every male with mollys  .

If its just the eye getting cloudy its most likely to be bacterial than fungus. Is there any signs of fungus or is it just that the fish has a cloudy eye......are any of the other fish showing any signs of illness?

edit - sorry Ive just read it again and didnt spot you'd put covering "even the eye".

Unless there is actually fungus on the fish Id still guess bacterial (maybe velvet), you will need to post water stats and a photo would help alot if poss as its hard to say without actually seeing it.

When did you do the water change, as if it was today it will affect the water stats, not sure how the treatment will affect them either having said that.
