Well I thought I'd have a go at breeding an out of the norm killi for me and bought some eggs of the Fundulosoma, not a good hatch rate but got a stunning little guy out of the bunch and he is keen as mustered so I've put him in a tank with 3 little females and he is a very busy boy.

Here he is with his favourite partner.

Beautiful little killi this, bred them many a time, (GH 94/1) fry are small and males dont like each other LOL
Male looks nice colour. How are you going about egg collection. I used weighted marg tubs for the peat, then removed and replaced with new peat.

Well these are still young and the male in the pic really only decently coloured up over the last week or so.

They are in a show/display tank that I have (6x6x6) with a layer of peat base, I'll move them from that at the end of the week and do the same again. I reckoned that the eggs would be so small I'd have a hard time seeing the eggs so thought this would be the best way for me to deal with it. The tank is floating within the main tank so is kept nice and warm and I do partial water changes daily with a turkey baster LOL.

What is the max size of the fish when fully grown, cause from what I can see a nano tank is the ideal way to display these fish, so much smaller than the fund's that I would normally breed.

They are a fairly small killi around the 35mm mark, the eggs are minute and the fry are too small for BBS so you'll need infusoria.
Dont leave the eggs in the tank with the adults too long as they search them out and eat them. I dont know if this is to be true, so I erred on the side of caution and collected the eggs/peat every couple of days.

Ok I thought as long as they were well fed there wouldn't be a problem, as for infusoria got some java moss from the parent tank in there.

Will move them tomorrow then cause I put them in the small tank a couple of days ago when I noticed the male was chasing the female around.

I thought the eggs would be small considering the parents size at the minute, the male can't be more than half inch at the minute but he is game I'll say that for him.

I brine shrimped them and left them with a few grindal worms for the night to ensure that they don't eat the eggs.
