Will may 4 tiger barbs eat may baby convict fry. the parents are doing well at protecting them will they soon eat them or do this for 2 or so weeks.

Just a wee question also regarding fry...

Is it ok to leave fry in the tank knowing that they will get ate, or is this morally wrong?

The way i see it is, it saves you buying live food, and the fish obviously love the taste of their own babies. cruel but true.

So should i feel bad if i just leave the wee fellas in their to be eaten?

No - don't feel bad - it's the same in the wild - survival of the fittest. It leads to only the strongest fry surviving. I've always let the fry in my tank fend for themselves and, as a result, the fish that manage to survive have turned into the strongest of their kind.

Do you have anywhere in the tank for the fry to hide - placts, decorations etc?

Im still doing the fishless cycle, so dont have any fish yet.
I was just asking for future reference.

Just another quick question. Can you sell fry to local fish shops for money?

Most LFS wont buy fry. You have to raise the fish until they are the size that you would buy them. A lot of LFS wont buy your fish but many will give you store credit or free fish etc. HTH :)

lfs are unlikly to buy a fry, and its even less likley that a lfs will buy a brood of convicts!
