Fry question

Just a small question, and i my be worrying about nothing.


The question is: Is it normal for the fry from Gouramis(Dwarf) to still cling to the sides of the tank, and plants. Even when thay have left the nest?

Sorry for the newbie question but i have never read anything that says if they are free swimming they still may want to hang on to something.

Any help I will be greatfull of.

They're probably not free swimming, actually. When they first leave the nest they still have yolk sacs, which they have to absorb before they can free swim horizontally. They're using those sacs to stick to everything, too.

I was wondering why they are still sticking to things.

I know my filter is a bit strong for them to, but there is some slack water where they are hanging on the glass and plants.
