 Had about 30 guppy fry three weeks ago and some seem to have frayed and deformed(??) tails and appear to swim erratically. Others appear perfectly normal?? Are they ripping/fraying each others tails; should these young be disposed of (hate to do this as they appear to be true "survivors")? I added some salt to the tank just in case it is a disease (I don't believe it is as the adults are very healthy and vibrant). Any ideas?? Thanks for your help.

When I first had guppy fry I had them in a breeder tank in my main tank, but then I got a small second tank and put them into there. :D

When they were in a breeder tank I noticed that some had odd shape tails they went down to a point rather than the normal shape and they swam erratically. I just assumed that they found it harder to swim than the ones with normal shaped tails. Sadly each one of the fry that had this shape eventually died but the others are still going strong. I am therefore guessing that these ones did not develop properly and would have died not matter what I did. :/

Don't know if this is the same thing or if I am right but I would also be interested if others have experienced this. I have only had fry since August so its new to me :fun:

Good luck with your fry, they are really great to have and watch grow.
