Hi Guys and Girls!

I have finally managed to bundle (net) a baby fry from my tank into a breeding net to bring on, i have had had three previous attempts at netting fry, never that many two or three, however each time i have, the comotion of doing so has stimulated my gut bucket Dalmation Molly and her Partner into wolfing them down savagely!!!

Anyway my new fry named "Solo" has been in his net for 10 days now and is doing well, i have been feeding him crushed flake, minced up bloodworm, and micro knat larvae and other wizzy whirly things i can net from my waterbutt. He has grown to about 10mm in length.

I have two dalmation mollies one male and one female, and four platies two of each sex, therefore i am not sure whether i have a platy or a molly, but due to the size "solo" was i when i first spotted it, i reckon its a molly.

However Solo is still fairly transparent and remains a light brown colour, and i was wondering when the colour (if at all) will develop?

Mollies often start out fairly close to their ultimate color. By 10 days mine were very near the color they are now, 6 months later. Do a google for daphnia magna and see if that might be your wizzy whirly things. It sounds like you are doing right by your fish so I would just keep it up for a bit longer.
