Frozen Food

Yes; pop it in a cup or jar with some water. If you have an old tea strainer, it's good to give it a rinse under the tap as well, but not essential :good:

I put a small amount of aquarium water into a cup(one I keep for such a purpose), and I tip it in after a few minutes. I know I don't have to though. Some members add them frozen to their tanks.

Thanks, then just pour the cup in, water and all??
Yep; apparently the water they come in quite high in phosphates, but honestly, that much diluted in the tank volume isn't going to cause any problems.

Yes, I've heard that; I've also heard of fish suffering digestive problems after eating still frozen food, so it's better to always defrost it, IMO. It only takes five minutes, after all :)

+1 for brine shrimp.
Prawns i leave alot longer until they're well defrosted, chop them up and put them into a cup of aquarium water then tip it in.

i just dump the frozen blocks from the blister packets in the tank on top of the vallis grass, cant be bothered to let it melt in a seperate cup any more.

Ditto, if you buy good quality frozen food it should defrost in seconds in the tank water.

Done it in a little tub, defrosted in about 60 secs, fish seemed to enjoy it, felt a bit sad though as I had Sea Monkeys as a boy lol

I used to break off a one by one inch piece of it and swirl it around in the tank. Then this Tiretrack Eel started coming up and wrestling it out of my fingers. He would just swallow the whole chunk.

I use the little thing-ma-bob feeders for frozen food. Drop it in and it's defrosts then the fish can take it out of the feeder :) effortless!

My Cichlids try and eat the full frozen lump (greedy piggies) so I need to defrost it first
