Hi,I finished doing a "fishless cycle" last week and am now the proud owner of, 2 Orandas..3 Black Moors, and 3 Ryukins.
The fella in the pet shop said they like to be fed frozen brine shrimp occasionaly.
Do i put them in the tank while they are still frozen? and how often would you suggest i feed them with this?
(Im feeding them just Flakes at the moment)

They will love you if you feed them brine shrimp.

I thaw mine first and am pretty sure most people do the same. They thaw pretty quickly, and a small chunk of frozen actually comes out to a large number of shrimp. The frequency of feeding is probably a matter of personal preference, but your fish will eat them as often as you offer them.

I'd take some water (you just need a little bit) out of your aquarium and put it in a glass. Add the cube of frozen brine shrimp and wait untill there is no ice left anymore (If you stir it a bit it should take about 3 minutes)

I think 1 cube (at least, if they're the same size as mine) will be way too much for your fish, so you might be better of feeding some with a spoon and put the rest in the fridge for the next day.

It really cant hurt to feed it daily, as addition to the flakes... try small bloodworms as well, mine go insane for it! I have to feed my puffers & gobies bloodworms daily, and my community tank gets the leftovers ... they love them!

Thanks for the replies
I think ill try them with some tomorrow, and as you said.maybe half a cube to begin with, then see how they get on

You might also look for the brine shrimp sold in the flat packets rather than cubed. Then you can just break off the size chunk you need. It's thin enough that it breaks up easily.Soon you'll have a good idea how much is enough.
