Hi all.
Wanting to transfer some of my second generation Mountain Cloud fry from my pond into one of my aquariums.
Should I quarantine them first?
I've popped them into my qt for now, only been there approx five days, but would like to use the qt for some new cories.
They all seem healthy, and the parents have been breeding like crazy, but I'm just not sure.
Thoughts?

You mean White Clouds? If you know they’re healthy I’d just transfer them.

Hello Fray. The difference between the water in an outdoor environment and an aquarium are considerable. The water chemistry for one is very different. Fish going from outdoors to indoors is very stressful, even if you put them through an acclamation process. I tried this years ago and none of the fish survived more than a few weeks. The biggest difference is oxygen. The water outdoors is much more affected by oxygen than the water indoors. For some reason, this puts a lot of stress on the fish and affects their immune system. You may find things different, so good luck with that.

White clouds are very hardy. You can just move them over without any qt, unless you've got other fish swimming in there.

I was going to put them in a community tank but will cancel that idea.
Don't want to have them stressed (or dead!) so I'll keep them as pond fish.
Looks like pond no 5 is the next project......
Thanks for your replies.
