I should like to add some mountain shrimp to my tank but am a little wary of how my Bengal loach's will react to another bottom dweller.
They get on OK with the other fish but do tend to try and chase away there fellow tank mates when its feeding time.

Has anyone kept these two species together before please?

I don't think it would work, a lot of loaches don't like to have inverts around

Hmmm shame, I wanted a non fishy addition.....
How about some nice big Apple snails?

loaches are renound for eating inverta inc snails! you could try it but i doubt it would work.just be a waste of money some exeprnsive dinner

Probably not, unless you wanted to start a french resturant ;)

OK, I thought it was only clowns that could handle something as big as an apple snail.

No non- fishy bits for me then :/

if you can get them, try cameroon armoured shrimp Atyopsis gabonensis with your botias
I have two with most of my botias, provided there is plenty of wood for the shrimp to hide under/in and the shrimps are not under 2" there will be no problem.

wow that is one mean looking shrimp!

I'll look into it - thanks Wolf.
