A couple of days ago I asked about Bettas (wich are Carnivorus) and Ghost-Shrimps as Tank-Mates! Nobody was really sure, but I tested it and I can say- Bettas and Ghost-Shrimps get along fine! Just make sure you use food that swimms for the Betta and Food like pieces of Algeawafers or other fast-sinking foods for the Shrimps! The Betta will eat anything as fast as he can befor it even has a chance to sink down for the shrimps, the chance that you overfeed your Betta just so the Shrimps get a chance to snatch some food is big! I bought Algeawafers and broke then im little pieces- now I can feed both species at the same time and no one goes hungry!

My male betta lived with 5 ghost shrimp in peace for awhile maybe a month or so, but then he started to eat them because they have all disappeared besides one. But when I did feed them I would feed drop his flakes/pellets in at the top and while he was eating those I would crush up some flakes and send them down towards the bottom. They'd sink too fast for the betta to eat them all. Then I would crush up some algae wafers and sinking wafers as well. Try a shelled pea. My shrimps could never get to it because the betta would "guard" it even though he was already full I guess he was saving it for later.

It can work, but the betta may very well eat the ghost shrimp.

One of my males lived peacefully with his ghost shrimp for 2 months.
And then ate him.

But for $0.39, it's not like you can't afford to replace it. Unless you get attached to the shrimp of course..

Mine will kill or try to kill anything I drop in there lol.

I've tried shrimp and snails. They just dive bomb them til they flip over. They never eat them though, just kill them.

They even attack theamonia absorbing pads I drop in there, lol they're so funny.
