Behind a little bubbling cave.
I have only one white cloud, I wish I had more. He lives with in group of female bettas, and I'm wondering, other than more white clouds, which I will add what I can, what else can I add?

Africn Dwarf Frogs are a good tankmate for bettas. :good:

Edit: Frongs don't exist...

Difficult question for me because I know so little about Betta's. I believe female Bettas to be harmless, so aggression in the Betta->other direction is not really a problem. The vast majority of small CC&A species are also quite harmless so CC&A->Betta aggression is not a problem. As long as you avoid the obvious exceptions, Tiger Barbs, Serpæ Tetras, etc. most would suit, it becomes a matter of taste then. For a blanket recommendation, pick a Rasbora you like, there aren't any aggressive Rasboras.

What did you have in mind?

I have black neon tetras, gold neon tetras and phantom tetras and they all go with my male betta.. no fin nipping, aggression or anything, they hardly even notice each other at all!! so i would say theyre a good mix although some people do get tetras which nip the betta's fins xx

Cool! How long have you had them? The female bettas are quite docile, they ignore the white cloud, they're totally peaceful(although they occasionaly argue amongst themselves).

Ok, so in adition, I will more white clouds, khuli loaches, and a few ADFs.
In my five gallon, I will add a male betta, black neons, and an a specimen fish, any ideas for that?

A scarlet badis/ dario dario would be good in a five gallon though I'm not sure about compatibility.

Maybe, instead of khuli loaches, maybe banjo cats. In the five gallon, I still need a specimen

A 5 gallon would be spacious for a single Betta, but is not large enough for much else. You mention Black Neons for example. These need to be kept in a group of 6 or more. Even asuming the maximum stocking guideline of 1" per gallon, (which is really pushing it in a tank that small), you don't have enough space for them, let alone a Betta and "specimen" fish.

Maybe in the five I could have a few khuli loaches, in the ten white clouds and some ADFs with maybe a single banjo cat.

I killed bettas when they were in with my kuhlis, because the bettas ate themselves to death. Bottom feeders like black kuhlis must have food left on the bottom of the tank with the lights out. Bettas will gorge themselves to death on this food. I tried (extremely foolishly) with five bettas, and tried everything to make sure only the loaches got the food. Bettas will tunnel under pots, push the loaches out of the way, even dig in the gravel to get at every last bite. They litterally burst open from eating so much.

Not only that, but kuhlis should really have more space than a 5. They are really active fish.

personally, i would think its best to ask the place you're gonna get them from because some people find certain combinations work, when others don't. ( ive been advised against keeping angel fish with tetras,, even though there are currently some together in a huge community tank in my lfs. ) sometimes you can just get lucky or unlucky with the temperament of the fish cause it can vary like people sooo i'd go and see what the shop you are going to get them from advises because many people have very different ideas.
