I have a 10 gallon with a cory cat and a CAE in it. I want to put a couple of Tiger Barbs and something else in it that is bright and colorful. Any ideas?

Nippy fish like tiger barbs should not be kept in such a small tank...

The CAE will get very big and start attacking other fish, so you should consider giving it back or getting a bigger tank, if possible.

Colorful fish is easy, though. Male or female bettas (depending on the other fish in the tank, of course), or guppies. Harlequin rasboras might be good, too.

Tiger barbs are very active fish, and need atleast a 30 gal tank. I have heard cherry barbs are less active and only need 10 gal.

Also, Cory cats are social fish, so they really need to be kept in a group. You need to be careful of the CAE's as they have a reputation for becoming very agressive. Here is the mod edit from the CAE profile on this board.
*** Mod edit ***

This species gets more aggressive and bad tempered as it gets older/larger. It loses interest in eating algae and becomes more interested in protein. If kept with slow moving flat bodied fish, (gouramies, Angelfish etc.), it has been known to stick to their sides and eat their slime coats. It also has a, sadly often, documented habit of taking eyes out of other fish, particulaly Corys. I do not believe these should be sold as community fish. In suitable accomodation, this fish can easily reach 250mm/10" in a tank.

hypothetical stocking of a 10 gallon (i've had similar)

1-2 blue rams
3 panda cories (they stay smaller than most other cories)
1 betta
3-4 guppies (1 male/rest female)
or at a big pish 6-8neons/small tetra and drop the betta/guppies

add a few plants and some rocks it and it makes for a nice colorful very workable tank, with tanks this size you realy need to stay ontop of your water changes maybe 25-33% every 4-5 days
