freshwater shrimp?

I could be wrong, but I doubt the shrimp will hurt your fish. I've never heard of that happening, except when shrimp are eating a fish carcass (that died for some other reason). Mine never bothered my cories. They may eat fish eggs.
thank you. i am a professional worrier/ weirdo;)

Whilst that may be the case in Malaysia, over here in Blighty, neither Pets at Home, Maidenhead Aquatics or my small local fish shop sell any 'feeder' anythings.
Ouuchh I guess there is not many having Predator Fish in their aquarium ... since there is no market for Live "fish feeders" or it could be they are feeding Predator fish with flakes and processed food.

Yep thats right there wil be no harm what so ever from the Shrimp. There is always a confusing when people see Shrimp gathering around dead fish they will always think that the Shrimp is the cause of the fish to be dead .

Shrimp are just the cleane crew and that includes dead fish remains and what not.

It's due to the law (Animal Welfare Act 2006). The law states that it is "an offense to cause unnecessary suffering to animals under the control of man" and it can be interpreted that feeding one live animal to another will cause unnecessary suffering to the 'food' animal.
So while the law does not specifically ban feeder fish or shrimp, shops don't label fish or shrimps as feeder animals.

Interesting. The maidenhead aquatics near me has them in a separate tank with a label specifically saying they are feeder shrimp and are not for keeping in regular tanks.

The Maidenhead Aquatics near me only have highly coloured cherry shrimps of various colours for sale. I don't remember seeing even amanos, and I don't think I've ever seen a ghost/glass shrimp in a shop. I did once see crystal red shrimps in a branch of MA near where my son lives, but not locally to me.

It seems that each branch sells what it wants, and not necessarily the same as other branches.

Speaking to both my local branches, staff were quite shocked by the prospect and were under the impression that it was against policy, on account of the Animal Welfare Law mentioned by Essjay.

Not sure I will be going there again, I wasn't overly impressed. If I do though I will get some photos.

hello
i am so impressed that the UK and Malaysia have knowledge of animal cruelty laws. here in the US we need more of those. this country is too gun and hunting crazy for me. my husband inherited his parents’ house in Arkansas US. unfortunately this state is very gun oriented. not bragging but since moving here, i learned of the yearly festival of throwing turkeys out of airplanes for the public to catch and probably eat. anyway PETA had been trying to end this for years. i attended this so called festivity with the idea of capturing a live bird to save it and give to PETA for their investigation. well i did get a turkey- it was a dead one that a person gave me because they had more than one. they didn’t know i was helping PETA. long story short the turkey i provided PETA led to autopsy and proof that these birds suffered - many didn’t have time to fly away from the plane and hit the ground. i cried all the way to the veterinarian who later did autopsy. that poor bird was badly hurt.
anyway i hate cruelty to animals, but in nature i realize there are prey and predators. i also had volunteered in my previous state Wisconsin at a raptor rehab facility. those regal hawks and eagles did kill and eat prey food to feed themselves and their young. it’s hard to see but in nature it’s the way. when people do it no excuse. lol i have too many guppies but i still save some of the fry in floating net containers. 😉🥰

btw- PETA’s investigation ended Arkansas’s turkey trot festival. the one i attended in 2014 was the last one.
