I went to a Salt and Fresh water fish store and saw something I have never seen or heard of before: Freshwater Eels! They look EXACTLY like a miniature moray eel. I have tried looking up information about these "Freshwater Eels", but I cannot find anything worth while about them! :-(

My question is: are they truly freshwater? If anyone can give me a website about them, I would really love it!

Thanks!

If the eels looked like moray eels they probaby were moray eels from either the Gymnothorax or Echidna species. These eels start out life in freshwater but as they grow swim out in to the esturies and deltas where the salt levels in the water are higher (brackish water).
