I saw a really little one at a lfs today. Could one of these be kept in a 2 and a half gallon fish tank?

they really need brackish water to give them a good quality of life, and they do need to get out of the water, I'd say a 2 1/2 gallon would be too small for one.

it'll need 3/4 land, and 1/4 water you will need to research, how to keep the sand damp enough for the crabs to live well.

yep brackish, land and heat lamps too! 24x15x10 inches is about the smallest viable tank.

Give this a thought:

if you use 1/4 of the tank for water, that would make the dimensions of the "wet tank" 6x6-8x10 inches! how, with conventional aquarium products, are you going to filter the water? even the smallest filter would take up much of the wet area! it can be done but i just wondered if anyone had any ideas?
