Freebie Plec , But What Is It

Hi all , picked up some free fish off gumtree young lad was getting rid of tank , either i didn't read plec in the ad or he's never put it in , anyways i've ended up with a plec , all my senses tell me it's a young sailfin due to it's lovely big fin , can someone confirm it's identity for me , just so i'll know how big it grows and whether to rehome now or not

ps is that a heater burn on it it's side too ?

It's a giibiceps, I'm afraid, so it could grow to well over a foot long, maybe even two eventually. Plecs of all kinds are prone to heater burns, but I can't see well enough from that pic. Plecs do lose colour and go sort of stripy when they're stressed, so it could be that.

i knew it was going to be a tank buster lol i'll let him clear up some of the algae and rehome him before he starts making ditche's and up rooting my plants lol . Thanks for the ID
