Hi Superman, I am just down the road in Brackley, but come to Banbury often, I have just got an orange dwarf gourami and female from Hurrans, not sure if I had another male if they would fight, I could get another girl to go with yours, what do you think?????

hmmm im not sure on the sex of my gourami though. any ideas how you can tell. or would mixing them not really matter much. brackley is just down the road.

i think 4 in total would make quite a nice community in your tank.

its all yours

Hi, apparently the difference is in the shape of the dorsal and anal fins. The fins of the male are sharply pointed at the rear of the fin, whereas the female's fins are rounded???

Where abouts are you?

Thanks

Elaine

Hi

I have been reading up a bit and I think I am just going to stick with my 2 at the moment, from what I have read they can be quite territorial and I have a lovely peaceful tank at the moment and would like to keep it that way. If it was female I would be interested, but don't want to risk the 2 males.

Sorry to mess you about.

Hope you are coping with all this snow.

Elaine

i love the snow. gave me a chance to do some drifting in a private car park.. ahh the smell of melting snow on tyres.. lol

its ok... if there any fish other then the gourami let me know as i had a pm with someone interested. so hopefully the gourami will be going to a good home although been watching him (hopefully its a him) and kinda taking a liking to it. never really like it as it was quite slow and boring but now seen that it has quite alot of character.. might even let him move into my new tank.

gouramis arent realy territorial, and i think you tell male from female by the feelers if the feelers are thicker they are female if they are thin they are male

the gourami is definately male then.. the feelers are thin. my gourami pretty much stays in one spot all the time. is this normal.
