Found out why Guppies are dying

I tested my water again today. I saw that the nitrites were 5.0!!! I was like,OH MY GOD!!!!!! I quickly grabbed my pitcher and made a big water change. I was shocled the guppies I do have were still alive. I am soooooooooooooo stupid sometimes.

Don't blame yourself - it happens to us all.

Do you know why your tank suddenly had nitrite? Has the tank not cycled properly before or has it gone through another mini-cycle for some reason?

When some of the fish died I think thats what sparked the nitrites causing more fish to die.....and then the nitrites got higher and so on. I lost some beautiful ones though..........
