Found A Snail

I have found a snail in my newly planted tank (no guesses as to where it has come from )
The main question is will it harm my plants?

Can't belive i haven't spotted it before, its huge!

I think the common name for those are "rubbish" snails...... I'd take it out as they can multiply to the extent that they become an unsightly nuiscance... Don't think they will harm the plants though.
