As many of you know, a couple weeks ago I was heartbroken to lose my female betta. Today I finally decided to go out and find a replacement, if possible. Thanks to my great guy freshmike  for helpin me get over her by buying me Emporer Kuzco. If you guys haven't seen him - he's in the gallery - GORGEOUS blue and purple crowntail. He's to die for, and I'm so happy - I can't wait to meet him. Edit: He's also the one in my avatar... lol, silly me.

Anyways... took a trip to look at fishies and was pleasantly surprised to find girl bettas in with the boys at Petco! Never happened before! First lady my mom grabbed looked just like the last one only smaller. Of course I had to get her, she was SOOOOO cute - flaring her gills at the boy next to her like a tough gal - and she was about 1/3 his size!! She's the tiniest betta I've ever seen, so pretty young I guess! Named her Thumbelina, though she's even smaller than my thumb right now... :D

Then.... the biggest news! *drumroll* Found a new fish store! YEY! It's a great one, not a chain... and those are all I've had until now. Anyways, they had crowntails!! *dies* I was SO excited!!! More expensive of course, but they also had a sale going on.. just my luck, with a certain coupon (which I got!) you could get any freshwater fish buy one get one free. This means Julie hadda get 2 crowntails... :*) Also had to buy some little tanks for them of course. I got the 2nd smallest size of Penn Plax New World - they didn't say how large on them they were, anyone know? I looked online and it said 1.5 gallons, but I'm not sure. Anyways, set those up tonight and the boys are lookin quite happy.

Oh! Guess you want me to describe them, eh? ;) I'd take pics but I don't have a cam! Anyways, the first boy is AMAZING. He's at least 3 colors, maybe more. He's marble with a pinkish red body and partially maroon fins. He's also got some white splotches and almost the bottom half of his fins are white - along with a bluish grey color that is stunning and highlights several areas. Second guy is sort of a cambodian - pinkish purple body with bright red fins that also have purple and the same bluish color in them. They're so beautiful. Sorry so long! I had to brag!
