Kk while I was rinsing off the nasty crushed coral off my live rock (I was putting it into my new tank) I turned it over to find this gross sluggish stuff. I cant really explain it its more like a taffy substance that was stuck onto the bottom of the rock...Is this beneficial to the live rock or tank? Or can I take it all off? Heres a picture:

If it smells bad as in you have to reel your head back away from the source it's a dead "something" . toss it if you haven't already since it'll just add ammonia and nitrates. Just the same I'd just toss it :good: .

Tough to ID somethin like that once you pull it out of the tank... Lots of saltwater organisms deflate when you pull them out of the tank and that thing just looks like a pile of goo . Since you allready pulled it out, toss it :hey:
