Good evening all
A couple years back I went beachcombing in Dorset. It was bloomin' freezing but, what the cold weather and harsh waves does allow is lots of nice fossil to be washed up or suddenly appear.
Anyway! I have since had these in the garden as a decoration in a barrel planter. Is it safe for me to bring a few of the small ones in and give them a rinse in tank water (from a WC) and put them in the new tank I've set up? I think they'd look so cool!
Many thanks in advance as always, for your advice

Thank you both ☺️ Another mistake avoided and more learned along the way

You could fill a container of the same water you use in your fish tank, soak one of the fossils for 1 to 2 weeks in it, test the GH and PH of that water...

Ive got a couple fossils in one of my tanks and my GH hasn't changed from it (reads 120)

So it can't hurt to test the water, pun intended!

(Also would love to see the fossils, im a fossil nerd)
