Hey there all! Im extremely inclined to keep a peacock mantis, despite their tank busting reputation. I know its a somewhat rare specticle, but i dont want to chance anything! So, does anyone know of any sort of all in one tanks like the biocube that is instead of glass, acrylic? size would have to be somewhere in the 30 gallon size. would using a normal 29 gallon biocube and then using an acrylic sheet on the bottom be fine? thanks for any input!

Don't know the specific answer but the only nano acrylic I know of is about 20 litres. Not sure what you need to keep a mantis but pretty sure you need more than just an acrylic base and I think if you just put acrylic inside the glass, then any shocks on the acrylic would transmit to the glass and still break it. I don't know for sure but seems risky to me.

My daughter and son-in law used to keep a peacock mantis - it will not need 30 gallons. They mostly stay inside their cave during the day coming out at night to hunt.

Why not make your own tank?

i would make my own tank, but then the cost goes way up, especially for acrylic tanks... and i just thought an all in one tank would be alot less expensive, and a bit cooler looking(biocube is pretty sweet).
