I did my weekly 10lt water change for my REKORD 96lt but forgot to add the dechlorinator. I remembered about 2mins after and added it straight to the tank and went overboard and added like 4times as much because i thought the water might have dispursed. Will this have any bad effects? Will the bacteria have been killed or am i going to be ok?

Dont worry you will be fine as long as you added it the same day, as I remember chlorine has bad effects on fish over a much longer period of time.
It sounds as if, like me you add it to the water before adding it to the tank but some people do actually add it in after so dont worry.

Not sure is using too much will have any bad effects mind.....4 times is alot.

Ive done it before with my big tank when Im changing uop to 8 buckets of water I go into auto pilot and forget if Ive added it or not....its easy done but your fish should be okay, just keep a wee eye on them.

From what I have read, you really can't OD on dechlorinator. Several of the product manufacturers state on their websites that it is impossible to OD the tank. You shouldn't have anything to worry about.

You may have already thought of this, but only thing I'd say is monitor your water stats closely for a couple of weeks, as the chlorine in the water may have killed off some of the bacteria in your filter so there's the possibility of a mini cycle happening.

Well when I got my first 10g with black tetras I added some water to the tank and forgot to add dechloranator to the tank but I did added some dechloranator once I remebered which was like 30 seconds later and they died 4 hours later....good luck
