...that they had the time, money and patience to own saltwater aquariums....like me....here are three alternatives...wild webcams to watch
Three live underwater webcams that operate 24 hours a day. They are based off Crete, Meeru Island and Innahura
Karavostasi, Crete : https://www.skylinewebcams.com/en/webcam/ellada/crete/rethymno/karavostasi-underwater-cam.html
Meeru Island, Maldives : https://www.skylinewebcams.com/en/w...-atoll/meerufenfushi/live-underwater-cam.html
Innahura, Maldives : https://www.skylinewebcams.com/en/webcam/maldives/lhaviyani-atoll/naifaru/underwater-cam.html
The level of visibility changes as you might expect being in the ocean, but when clear you can watch all sorts of fish along with the dive teams who maintain the cameras. The two Maldive sites are manmade reef colonies that were seeded tween 4 and 36 months ago to encourage the wildlife....on these two cameras you'll frequently see Manta Ray, various sharks and other species in their natural habitat. The site in Crete is semi natural in that the rock formations are placed along with pottery and other coral attracting idems.
The wildlife seen on the cameras are entirely wild and they will sometimes investigate the camera allowing you to take up close screenshots.
I often watch the cameras in the evenings after my own aquariums have had lights out....fascinating to see the different fish and how quickly the seeded coral has grown over a relatively short time.
Something to enjoy, maybe.
