For those of you who remember Nav's moth fish

Very interesting fish. I wish I could find more information online about the captive care of one. Maybe Nav can come on here and give us an outline of their requirements. I never trust Liveaquarias listed requirments, much of the time they give very bad advice.

If I remember correctly, Nav doesn't know much more about this fish than the rest of us. I think he got it as a hitchhiker or something.
There is a good section in the reef fish series by Scott Michael. I will try to post a summary later, but have to go to work now.

While I dislike how certain members from the forum came in and disagreed viemently with the general concensus on this forum on certain things and how they have repetedly broken the rule rgarding advertising other boards when it simply wasnt necesary I think that the syganthid forum would be the place to go to find out about these fantastic little fish, look up melissa01's posts (I think thats her name, something like that anyways)

Also known as a "Pegasus fish" they are really interesting little fish. close relations of pipefish/seahorses so tankmates are the same as you'd pick for them (gobies, shrimps, mandarins etc.)

They are quite delicate but from what i saw at work they feed on frozen foods (mysis/bloodworm/brineshrimp).

Are they as picky as the seahorses and pipefish? I read that they only eat stuff off of the substrate, how true is this? What is there temperment, do they become shy around fast moving fish like tangs, gobies, wrasses? Since you have seen one of these fish in person please unload any info you can, it'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Well we had it in with Chromis and Damsels as well as some gobies. It seemed to get along fine and ate whatever they were eating - bloodworm, brineshrimp, mysis etc. I would have thought that they are quite delicate and in hind-sight it would have been better to put it in the tank with the pipefishes and seahorses, although nothing was really known about it at the time.

Only other things I was told about it was that it was reef safe but didnt like lighting to be too intense.
