THIS is the size bala sharks can....sorry SHOULD grow to.For people that say they are fine in small tanks and they never get that big then the fish is stunted and thats bad for long term health. This fish is shown beside a standard 10gal tank(before anyone asks no it did not live in there).

Lol great post, altho i cant see that picture catching on round LFS' of the world!!

permission to right click and save that for future 'discussions'?

That really is an exalent post, it really shows people what size these fish get too.
I take it there is no chance of a ft long clown loach next to the same tank....

My suggestion would have been a 12" ruler - that way even the people who don't know their fishes will appreciate the point being made...

P.S. Since we have many posts from both UK and USA, which is the 'gallon' everyone here refers to?

Usualy its from where someone comes from. So here, T is most likely talking about UK gals.

what about that pengasius picture then? there was a post somewhere sometime about how big pengasius grow. it was some foreign guy holding a huge fish up in his arms, looking like he was struggling, and it was like over a metre long. cant seem to find that one though

I think most people tend to use US gallons. The standard 10 gallon tank would be about 40 ltrs, or just under.
