For Breeding

Ok, when I breed, I just need to know one thing. Can I breed in a 50 gallon? It says I can in the book I checked out from my local library, but I'm not sure. It would be nice if I could, so I would have to risk some of the babies dieing from the transfer to the bigger growout tank. Thanks.

I don't see any reason why you can't. I figure it will take longer for the spawn to occur since the male will have a harder time finding his mate.

It would possibly be a good idea to divide something like 10g off for them to spawn in, with mine, even in a 3g they keep missing each other

yeah it would take a while for them to breed in that size tank I normally use 7.5gs

( even in a 3g they keep missing each other ) imagine how long it would take them in the wild lol

i think thats what hes saying, except shes afraid to move the fry to the 50g, so why not just spawn in the 50 so he doesn't have to move anything.

You could divide off a section of the 50G so the bettas have a smaller area to spawn in, then remove the divider once the fry are free-swimming if you'd rather do it that way
