Ok, when I breed, I just need to know one thing. Can I breed in a 50 gallon? It says I can in the book I checked out from my local library, but I'm not sure. It would be nice if I could, so I would have to risk some of the babies dieing from the transfer to the bigger growout tank. Thanks.

I don't see any reason why you can't. I figure it will take longer for the spawn to occur since the male will have a harder time finding his mate.

It would possibly be a good idea to divide something like 10g off for them to spawn in, with mine, even in a 3g they keep missing each other :X

Why not breed in a 10G, and use the 50G as a fry tank?

Oh yeah, that was already mentioned.

You could divide off a section of the 50G so the bettas have a smaller area to spawn in, then remove the divider once the fry are free-swimming if you'd rather do it that way :)
