Food for fry

Is it ok to feed fry with tinned fish., such as mashed sardines ?

The fry are Dwarf Gourami and Platy.
I have read, in a Fishkeepers book, to feed adult fish, prior to breeding, fish roe and animal liver etc. So I wondered if anyone feeds tinned fish or maybe fresh fish, to fry.

feed crushed flake food or special fry food,or mabe a crushed live food such as daphnia or bloodworm to older fry.
I think the meat idea is for larger fry than platy or gourami

I would be feeding crushed flake alongside live vinegar eel, microworm & grindalworms.
