twinklecaz yours should be sufficient for your tank easily take it apart and give it a good clean.

Done it before, though I might try again tonight. I think a lot of the prob is there's a lot of chalk in our water.



and moonlights rock. I got some a few weeks ago and love them! On mine you can change the brightness. I just leave them on all the time coz I have it so dim that you can't see it when the main light is on.

sorry to hijack the post but twinkle have you tried putting filter floss in your filter. it will really polish your water and remove and bits in the water. not matter how small. Get some cusion filling from Dunelm and stuff in the the biomax chamber. Rinse it 1st tho

THANK YOU. The only reason I hadn't tried the floss is coz I didn't know where I could put it in a Fluval


I just left my carbon pads in btw. After a few days they run out and are basically just another pad anyway.

if you have took you carbon pads out pack the filter floss in there or as i said in the biomax chamber, guessing the layout is the same as my old u4

I got a Juwel Rio 180 with bog standard built in filter. Would anyone recommed an upgrade? maybe the U4? would there be any benefit or do people rate the Juwel built in jobbies?

i dont no about the Juwel but my u4 was spot on for my tank. only replaced it as i wanted a higher tern over of water. would recomend it 2 any one.

Hello people, me again.....can I use any cushion floss/filling? I have an old cushion in mind that may be murdered when I get home.

Obv I'll clean it properply first. Do I need to worry about any toxins being on it or anything? Is it treated with anything?

yep they are treated with fire retardants by law for the inside of a pillow...

So the stuff I can get from Dunelm isn't treated with that and is safe?
