I have a 70 litre aquarium with a Fluval 107 canister filter, I have two lots of fish in this tank, pearl danios, or Galaxy Rasboras, and Ember Tetras, I thought being really small fish they would like the flow down a bit, so I fitted a Fluval spray bar, it is working correctly, but since doing this all the fish are spending their time at the bottom of the tank, only swimming upwards when feeding, now when looking at the tank you would think there were no fish in it, till you notice they are spending their time a the bottom any idea why this is happening. The spray holes are pointing to the back of the tank near the top.

I personally haven't had much luck with the fluvial spray bar. I found my system worked best with the original diverter that came with the fluvial canister. Overall I found the spray bar to reduced the flow too much with the 407 I use. Don't know why it would encourage the fish to go to the bottom but I will note that that my single ember tends to stay to the bottom anyway, no matter the tank. You might be directing most of the oxygenated water towards the bottom, or there is a better current there with the spray bar. A photo might help.

Thanks, no I've adjusted the bar it's pointing near the surface so it's causing surface agitation .

If a fish can put himself in a good position in the current to have less effort to breathe and stand in place. They are going to use it. Energy conservation spontaneously made them adjust their behaviours.

A little like the seagulls that are all standing facing the wind near the sea, if they turn around their feathers catches the wind, they are dragged around and hate it.

A change in the general water movement, and they are taking advantage of it.
