I may end up having this brand new filter, instead of having it unused, would I be better removing an airstone and replacing it along with my juwel bioflow filter in my 125 litre tank.
Hello. You won't need much filtration if you remove and replace most of the tank water every week. For your 125 liter tank, you should change half the water about every 5 to 7 days and don't feed the fish very much. If you feed a little every other day, that should be plenty. Fluval is a good brand and that's what I use. I change out half the water in my 55 gallon tanks every 5 days or so and only need to use a filter designed for a 30 gallon tank, because the filter is just filtering water that's already clean. No air stone is necessary, the filter will do the job of mixing oxygen into the tank water. What else did you need to know?I may end up having this brand new filter, instead of having it unused, would I be better removing an airstone and replacing it along with my juwel bioflow filter in my 125 litre tank.
The trend nowadays is to have less obstruction inside the tank so you can have more area for fish and plants to exist. It is my preference too, and have the filtration equipment outside the tank as well. For years, I had an internal filtration system in the corner of the tank that was visible and took up a lot of space. I finally upgraded to another tank that didn't have that, and I never felt happier for it. That is just my preference. In your situation, I would use an AquaClear HOB filter for ease of maintenance and the variety of filter media to use. If you really needed an airstone, you could always add an airstone to your tank.I may end up having this brand new filter, instead of having it unused, would I be better removing an airstone and replacing it along with my juwel bioflow filter in my 125 litre tank.
It's just I bought the filter but I decided to purchase a juwel primo 70, it comes with filter, so the filter is just lying in a box, so I thought I could add it to the 125 tank, but do need it probably not, I do weekly 25% water changesHello. Hello. If you're only removing 25 percent of the water, you're leaving 75 percent of the pollutants in the tank. The percentage will increase before you change the water again. If you stay with changing this amount of water, you'll need all the filters you can use. In this case, I would definitely use another filter if one is available. It's just I bought the filter but I decided to purchase a juwel primo 70, it comes with filter, so the filter is just lying in a box, so I thought I could add it to the 125 tank, but do need it probably not, I do weekly 25% water changes
