Hello all,

Been reading the forums for a bit now but now for my first post...............

I have had a Fluval Vicenza 180 for 18 months now, after 6 months the lights started to dim to about half brightness after they had been on for 30 or so minutes, so I changed the tubes, still dimmed, then I got a new lighting unit from the retailer under warranty and all was well for 12 months, fully light again. However, the same has started to happen again, but now I am out of warranty.
Does anyone have any experience of this with Fluval light units? I am thinking of replacing it with a different unit like the Arcadia I bar, unless anyone has a better suggestion.

Thanks,

grog

It either sods-law or another problem apart from the tubes and ballast, could water or condensation be running down the tubes into the fittings?

Thanks for the reply, there is no sign of water beyond the tube seals and on the metal ends or sockets in the lamp holders. unfortunately the unit body above the lamps is completely sealed and i'm unable to get in to take a look at the internals, but will crack it open if I have to buy another light unit to check it out.
