I've got a fluval tronic 300w heater which I also purchased a heater guard for thinking it would be best for when I do get fish. The problem I have is that it keeps slipping down so the end is touching the sand. Is this a problem? Any suggestions would be great.

Thanx
Dani

try simple things like cleaning the glass ad suckers thoroughly and keep trying ;)

I did try that and it worked for a while until i had to do a water change. Then it started slipping again. Could do with more suckers on the other end but there's no way to put any on. Is the heater touching the sand a big problem? It's the guard that's actually touching it not the heater itself.

its not a problen to have the tip touching the sand, mine always has as i hide it behind plants and the angle means i have to, thats been running for years like that with no problems :)

Cool, well as long as it's nothing to worry about then I guess I'll stop worrying :) Just thought it might be a problem.

Thanx

If it puts your mind at ease then just buy another heater holder, there are various types available from different makers all relatively cheap.
