I'm looking a new filter, thinking of getting a G6. Anyone else have one? What are they like?

My LFS had one running as a demo, very impressive... But what happens when they go wrong? I would be tempted to stick with an FX5 or similar?!

If it broke then I'm sure there would be some warranty or failing that, the house insurance. The only thing that's putting me off is that they look so bulky. I've not seen one other than a picture so its hard to judge.

If i had the money, i would have one of these filters.

oh the dimensions are (LxWxH), 249 x 249 x 326 mm

They're not that bad actually if you have a decent sized cupboard.

What i meant is that with them being pretty new, things could still go wrong. The FX5 has been produced for years and is still one of the best filters out there as far as i know.

Go for it though, they do look snazy, but are very expensive... And at the end of the day, it will be sut away from site in a cupboard probably...

Well, the money was putting me off for a long time with it but I received some compenstation finally for a bike crash I had a few years ago the other week and I'm getting a tank upgrade too, if I can find someone who will build one that is so it will be for that. Its all on the long game at the minute yet though so it won't be today or tomorrow.
I see what you mean Minnnt about the potential problems, I will have to do a bit more thinking about it.

How much are they? Three hundred odd quid? You could get 2 ex1200's for under £180. :D

Let other people try them out mate, if all is good in a years time then get one.

We just laugh at them at the shop. It is a joke. Way overpriced, all glammer and glitz, very little actual filtration. Stick with a 405 or FX5.

Well, I'll see. As I said, it won't be today or tomorrow so I'll have a wee think about it.
I just don't want to be buying something that in a few months time will drop majorly in LPH.

Fx5 then it is then.

Check out the filter test thread mate, some great info for you in there.
