Filter in said tank is noisy with a dash of vibration so I have been told by wife and various innocent bystanders.
Me all I hear is a gentle hum but I must admit I am going deaf.
Has anyone out there been having the same problem with Fluval filters or just this particular tank and is there a cure for the noise?
Other than getting shot of wife and the bystanders.

I have the Fluval Flex 15 gallon tank. My filter is very quiet - no issues at all. I clean out the pump once every couple of months when I see the water flow slowing. For comparison, I have an air stone in the return compartment and the air pump makes more noise than the filter (and it's quiet too- I have very low air flow through it).

Maybe the pump is going bad or it's resting against the glass or plastic barrier between the filter and the main part of the tank? Do you have it secured to the bottom with the little suction cup feet?

Thanks for the reply,
The tank is sort of new it was a display tank and on offer.
Last water change we repositioned the pump but two days later back to square one.
I reckon you are right about the suction pads perhaps they are not doing their job properly.
Tomorrow(monday) is my next water change I shall try to reposition it and make sure pads are indeed doing their job.

Vibration is from the cable vibrating against the lid. I replaced my pump with a small eheim pump because the flow was too strong and the fluvial pump is non adjustable

Vibration can also come from a piece of sand in the impeller of the pump. A quick cleaning solves that.

Well I did my water change today as stated.
Cleaned out pump sponge, body, impeller and everthing else...... nothing found GaryE not even a snail;)
No cables caught under lid or fouling anything that I could find seangee.
But between us I think we have perhaps - dare I write it a result.
It would seem that my pump has not got suction caps at all they are just black rubber pads.
Now you would think that a good looking intelligent bloke would have noticed that first off.
Unfortunately I'm none of those so I did not.
Pump is running much quieter at the mo but I don't expect that to last.
Going to order suction cups and if that fails I shall go to plan B.
