Hey all, I have a fluval 405 external filter attached to my fluval vicenza 180 aquarium. The inlet and outlet are attached through the base of the aquarium and cannont be removed with water in the tank (image at http
/www.ukaps.org...php?f=35&t=8708).
This usually keeps the water crystal clear and does a really good job of collecting any waste. However, it ejects waste from the outlet during the self-priming process when turned on after cleaning. Is this normal or is there some way of avoiding it? The water becomes very cloudy with the dirt, it is clear again after about half and hour but would prefer all the dirt was kept within the filter!
I have tried emptying some water via the aquastop valve into a bucket without the filter attached but this doesn't seem to make much of a difference.
Many thanks for any help!
