just been offered a fluval edge at a very good price too good to pass up on imo so was thinking of planting it for a female betta or 2 do you think this will work

One female would be fine in here. You don't want to put too much else (if anything) with her though, as the tank is very small. Some shrimp or colourful snails (such as apple snails) would be a nice idea.

Don't keeo just two females. Due to their aggression they need to be kept alone or in groups of 4+, for which you'd need a larger tank. They also should not be kept with males.

Look here for some great info on setting up a tropical fish tank.

Assaye is right - 2 girls would end in disaster as they are little aggressive minxes

One would be fine though, maybe even some shrimp as well?

thanks for the quick replys thought 2 may cause a prob the male has his own 6 gal i have been keeping tropicals for just over 2 years now (8 tanks from 5 to 75 gals not including the edge) but im very new to bettas

Yeah, one female, not two. Female bettas are fun little fish!
